Dell EqualLogic PS Series iSCSI storage arrays

SAN Challege is back

A few weeks back I wrote about the short rack of equipment we are sending to Dell Storage Forum this year. For those that attended the event in Orlando, FL, you might be familiar with our SAN Challenge. So as you might have guested, we are brining our own equipment for the challenge. We will have several Dell Storage products to showcase, so if you will be in Boston this year please come by the Dell TechCenter booth and take the SAN challenge.

The DTC Shorty Rack

I learned yesterday that in order to make the shipping deadline for a big show we have next month, the rack has to be ready on sent over to the shipping warehouse by May 16th.  WOW, I have a lot of work ahead of me.  As everyone knows I work with a great bunch in the DTC Lab and we will get everything ready.  We wanted to have a stronger showing at the event this year and actually have some equipment in our booth for people to look at and of course take our SAN Challenge (might have to rename this to the Fluid Data Challenge, but not sure yet)

Here is what I am thinking about putting into the rack.

  • 4 x Dell PowerEdge R710’s
  • 1 x Dell EqualLogic PS 4100 array
  • 1 x Dell PowerVault DR 4000
  • 1 x Dell Compellent Array and controller
  • 1 x Dell PowerConnect 6348
  • 1 x Dell PowerEdge R810

I hope to update this as I make more progress and I hope to have some pictures up soon too.
